PaintMatch released on Greenhouse Games

New PaintMatch logo

My old-ish but still popular game Paint Match is now available on the new educational gaming platform called Greenhouse Games. It’s a startup from Singapore that wants to prove that education can be fun.

This topic has deep significance for me because some of the first games I ever built when I was a kid were demonstrating physical concepts like springs and electricity and were designed to be played in a classroom. It was also the first sort-of commercial project for me back then, and that rhymes well with this release too.

Even though I’m generally skeptical of subscription models for games distribution, these guys are offering parents access to a well-reviewed set of games for a monthly payment. I believe in this case it’s a decent approach because they are building a tool for parents to get access to a tightly curated list of games that are good for their kids.

For this release, Paint Match was stripped of all analytics (It previously had Google Analytics and Sentry for crash reports) and there’s a new logo designed by an artist I commissioned.
